Easy to Clean and Maintain

Maintaining the pristine look of your DesignCovers is effortless. All the cotton and velvet car seat covers are machine washable- simply wash on a cold cycle and allow them to drip dry. For best results, do not machine dry them. 

Instructions and materials needed for our vinyl Designcovers car seat covers (NEW MATERIAL OPTION)

• Mild soap or a specialized vinyl cleaner
• Warm water
• Soft cloth or sponge
• Soft-bristle brush (for tough stains)
• Microfiber towel
• Optional: Vinyl protectant (for added protection and shine)

Steps:

1. Dust and Debris Removal:

   • Begin by using a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner to remove any loose dirt, dust, or debris from the vinyl surface.

2. Prepare Cleaning Solution:

   • Mix a small amount of mild soap (like dish soap) with warm water in a bucket. Alternatively, use a specialized vinyl cleaner as per the instructions on the product.

3. Cleaning:

   • Dampen a soft cloth or sponge in the soapy water solution. Wring out the excess water so the cloth is damp, not soaked.
   • Gently wipe down the vinyl surface. Avoid scrubbing too hard to prevent damaging the material.

4. Tough Stains:

   • For stubborn stains, use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub the area. Be careful not to use too much force, which could scratch or wear down the vinyl.

5. Rinse:

   • Dampen another clean cloth with plain water and wipe down the vinyl to remove any soap residue.

6. Dry:

   • Use a microfiber towel to dry the vinyl completely. This prevents water spots and helps maintain the material’s integrity.

7. Apply Vinyl Protectant (Optional):

   • For added protection and to enhance the vinyl’s appearance, apply a vinyl protectant. Follow the product instructions, usually applying it with a clean cloth and buffing it in for a nice finish.

Tips:

• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the vinyl.
• Regularly clean and condition the vinyl to keep it looking new and to extend its lifespan.
• Protect the vinyl from direct sunlight when possible, as prolonged exposure can cause fading or cracking.
